What We Look for During Chimney Inspections

During chimney inspections, our professional experts will start by examining the entire interior and exterior of the chimney. This allows us to get a full overview of the structural integrity of your chimney. We can then determine the soundness of the structure, while also making sure the parts and connections are all intact like they should be.

Visual inspections also play an important role in checking for any potential problems or hazards. We will check the flue of your chimney to make sure it is clear of blockage. Another common step during inspections involves making sure there aren’t any leaks, cracks, or corrosion that need to be taken care of. Also, there are three levels of inspections, so the kind of inspection you receive will likely depend on the kind of chimney you have. These levels range from basic inspections to utilizing special tools and removing parts of a chimney. At Swept Away Chimney, we currently only perform level II chimney inspections.

You should have your chimney inspected at least once a year, so it’s important to make inspections a regular part of home maintenance. If you’d like to learn more about chimney inspections or you’re looking for some other chimney services such as repairs, installation, improvements, and more, don’t hesitate to give us a call.
